The West End

The West End stretches from
Coal Harbor to English Bay, bordered by Burrard Street on one side and Stanley
Park on the other. The West End could easily be called the Best End because it
has everything, absolutely everything!

The best scenery. From the Magic Mile on the southern part of the West End one
can get to the world famous Stanley Park, to False Creek and English Bay, to Coal
Harbor and to the Burrard Inlet. A walk on Beach Avenue will provide an
incomparable scenic view.

The best shopping. There are three major shopping streets in the West End, each
seven blocks long. Summer holiday like, Denman, for a huge range of medium
price restaurants, coffee and gelato bars, a cinema, unique shops, one of them
being a swim-suit boutiques should one decide on an impromptu dip or walk along
the beach conveniently stretching at the end of the street. Lively, glitzy and
gay-friendly, Davie, for night-clubs, clothing stores, book stores, Internet
cafes, restaurants with food from around the world, gay bars, coffee bars and
24 hour super markets, 24-hour drug stores and 24 hour restaurants. Posh,
touristy Robson, for the shop till you drop crowd. Major department stores and
Luxury Boutiques, you name the store - it’s there.

The best spots for fitness buffs. The shore-line accessible in a twenty minute
walk from most parts of the West End for sailing, rowing, swimming, and sandy beaches
for tanning. For the joggers, bladders and walkers the sea-wall and beautiful
tree-lined streets beckon and for the bikers numerous bicycle paths.

The best entertainment, indoor and outdoor, the Vancouver Art Gallery at the
end of Robson, the Aquarium in Stanley Park, endless people watching from
restaurant patios, the annual fireworks display on English Bay and last but not
least the Gay Pride Parade every August.

The West End is the most diversely populated, intensely active portion of the
Lower Mainland. It’s high-rises, low-rises and converted heritage homes house a
population of families with kids, teenagers, singles, couples, retirees,
working people, all mingling to give this neighborhood diversity and life. Did
we mention the view?

The West End is one of the most coveted real estate sights of the Westside.
People from around the world are taken with the beauty of Stanley Park and of
the seashore and enchanted by the diversity of the neighborhood. All these
elements combine to make the West End the Best End.
